“Need is the mother of All invention” this is what made a Palo Alto-based designer Claire delaunay conceive 'botiful', a telepresence social media robot specifically for android
powered smartphones that bridges physical interaction by means of online communication. Utilizing a custom open-source interface, the user can control the robot's direction and be remotely present from anywhere in the world. An internal application shop offers additional features, such as face detection, making it easier to interact with distant family members at social events,
conduct conference calls, or remotely play with grandchildren from across the globe. an optional software development kit for 'botiful' allows users to fully customize the robot by adding new sensors or integrating new applications to the existing operating system.Right now it is available in white, black and blue, the 'botiful' is currently seeking funding on kickstarter. Delaunay plans to add compatability for iPhone if the project successfully meets its goals and is put into production.
It is like something which makes you believe that teleporting might become possible in some future. Does this seem like something you would use? Tell us in the comments.
